Iyengar Certification

This ensures a high standard of knowledge in Certified Iyengar Instructors.

Differences between Iyengar and other Yoga Styles

In an Iyengar yoga class you will be shown and taught how to perform asanas (postures) accurately and safely. Poses are held longer than students might be used to in a flow-style class, and instructors take time to observe and assist students.

One of the most important aspects of Iyengar yoga is to teach for every body, so that all can reap the benefits of practice. B.K.S. Iyengar developed a system that my use props instead of utilizes props. This means that a stiffer body will be supported in such a way that they create the healthy actions of a posture, while at the same time, a more flexible body will still be challenged. No body is left behind.
